Steve Bucuvalas, Chief Executive Officer
and a Director of the ioSemantics, LLC
Steve Bucuvalas founded ioSemantics in 2005 following several years of research in combining Formal Methods, Computational Mathematics and Semantic Technologies for use in business applications. Mr. Bucuvalas leads a Management team that possesses direct experience architecting, implementing and maintaining core technology platforms in large and small companies.

His personal development experience includes developing one of the first ATM systems in New England in mainframe assembly language and developing Prolog-based productivity tools for business analysts. Mr. Bucuvalas has served as the technology Senior Vice President for the Bank of New England, as the Vice President of Advanced Technology and Architecture for Prudential Home Mortgage, and as Chief Technology Officer of Nexstar Financial Corporation. In 1996, Steve founded eoTek LLC, to develop Internet-based software solutions for corporations doing business in the mortgage, financial services, and communications industries. EoTek’s clients included Chase Mortgage, Banc One, and MCI/WorldCom. EoTek grew to a company of approximately eighty employees and contractors, and in 2000 it was sold to Nexstar, an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR).

Alan Strait, Chief Operating Officer
Alan has been building distributed systems since 1991, when he joined the Open System Initiative at Price Waterhouse. In 1994, Alan began employing Web technology to build middle-tier applications from mainframe systems for large call center deployments on behalf of a regional Bell operating company client and has been using Web technology ever since.

As a longtime software-as-a-service and lean software development professional services entrepreneur, in 1996, Alan co-founded SynXis, a hospitality software-as-a-service business subsequently acquired by Sabre Holdings. In 2002, he co-founded F4 Technologies, subsequently named Rally Software, the leader in agile application lifecycle management. As a software development practitioner, Alan has built his practice around lean techniques to deliver distributed object systems. Prior to joining ioSemantics, Alan spent 16 years selling and delivering complex distributed commercial systems for delivery by way of the Web.

Leslie Whitehouse, Director, Service Delivery
Ms. Whitehouse is leading ioSemantics’ service delivery to our clients. She has over 25 years of experience developing, marketing, and selling technology solutions to enterprise customers in Financial Services, Telecommunications, Retail, and Design. Ms. Whitehouse worked in large enterprises, including IBM and Xerox, and in more entrepreneurial technology ventures in the US and Europe as a Vice President and an Executive Director.
