Don Peskin
Mr. Peskin has more than 20 years of Wall Street and investment experience, most notably, as a Managing Director and Principal at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (“DLJ”). He left DLJ in September 1997 to pursue private investment opportunities in finance, technology and related industries, and is currently the founder of Short Hills Capital, LLC, a privately held investment vehicle.
In addition to his principal investment activities, Mr. Peskin has been a Managing Member of Cognitive Capital Management, the General Partner of the Cognitive Strategic Fund, a hedge fund. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Ballard Petroleum LLC from 1997 until its acquisition by Alberta Energy Corp. in early 2001. Mr. Peskin is a member of the Entrepreneurship@Cornell Advisory Council. He has been a director of ioSemantics since November 2007.
Howard Culang
Mr. Culang has been a director of Radian Group Inc. (RDN) since June, 1999, where he serves as Chairman of the Credit Committee and is a member of the Compensation Committee. He has served as President of Laurel Corporation, a financial services firm, since January 1996.
Mr. Culang has served in the past as Vice Chairman of Residential Services Corporation of America, the holding company for Prudential Home Mortgage, Lender’s Service, Inc., and Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, and as a Managing Director and member of the Executive Committee of the Prudential Home Mortgage Company. He also held a number of senior management positions with Citibank, N A, and was designated a Senior Credit Officer of the bank.
Mr. Culang served as a Managing Member of JH Capital Management, the General Partner of the JH Investment Partners Fund, an equity fund, and as Managing Member of Cognitive Capital Management, the General Partner of the Cognitive Strategic Fund, a hedge fund.
Mr. Culang served as a member of the board of directors of Smart Storage, Inc., a software company that was successfully sold in 2001. He has been a director of ioSemantics since July 2008.
Mark Bieler
Mr. Bieler is the President of Mark Bieler Associates, Inc., a consulting firm advising top management of private and public sector organizations on strategic human resources and organization development. Clients of Mark Bieler Associates have included a variety of institutions including The Westfield Group (the world’s largest mall developer/manager), Morgan Stanley Retail, Ogilvy & Mather, Mercantile Trust, and the US Central Intelligence Agency.
Mr. Bieler was Director of Human Resources for Bankers Trust Company, and Executive Vice President of the parent organization, Bankers Trust Corporation. He had Human Resources responsibilities for Banking Operations and for the International, United States, and World Corporate Banking units. He has been a director of ioSemantics since June 2009.
Melvin A. Yellin
Mr. Yellin is currently a partner at Tandem Global Partners, which is a globally focused money manager that offers investment services to sophisticated institutions and individuals, focusing primarily on alternative investment strategies. Prior to joining Tandem, Mr. Yellin was President of Stone Point Corporation. Mr. Yellin spent the bulk of his career at Bankers Trust Company and was a Partner, Executive Vice President and General Counsel when it merged with Deutsche Bank.
Mr. Yellin was a member of the Symbol Technologies, Inc. Board of Directors (Audit, Compensation and Governance Committees) as well as a director of numerous privately held companies and not-for-profits. During his career, Mr. Yellin has acted as chairman, speaker and author for numerous business organization programs including those run by the Conference Board, the NACD, Columbia Business School (ODX) and the Wisconsin School of Business. He has been selected for “Who’s Who in American Law,” The International “Who’s Who of Contemporary Achievement” and the “International Directory of Distinguished Leadership.” He has been a director of ioSemantics since January 2011.
